FluoroSpot ELISpot antigen-specific T cell B cell response assays

FluoroSpot and ELISpot

Detect cytokines and measure antigen-specific T- and B-cell responses with ELISpot and FluoroSpot assays customized to your specific antigen. Commercial assays and custom development is available, with validation specific to your study’s specifications.

MSD Meso Scale Discovery multiplex cytokine chemokine immunoassay

Meso Scale Discovery (MSD)

Profile cytokines, chemokines, and inflammation markers from small sample volumes with the MSD platform, delivering high-throughput, multiplexed data from as little as 25 µL of serum or plasma. MSD’s low limit of detection and broad dynamic ranges make it a suitable platform for targeted protein quantification in infectious disease programs.

Influenza vaccine immunogenicity phase II trial CellCarta ICS flow cytometry

Scientific Publication

Influenza Vaccine Immunogenicity

Two randomized Phase II trials of a plant-derived quadrivalent influenza vaccine candidate enrolled 750 adults across two age groups to assess safety, humoral response, and cell-mediated immunity.

ICS assays by flow cytometry, delivered by CellCarta, showed the 30 µg dose produced the most consistent responses in both cohorts, directly informing the dose taken forward to Phase III.

LCMV Vaccine Phase I Trial

The first-in-human Phase I trial of HB-101, a replication-deficient Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus (LCMV) vector-based vaccine against cytomegalovirus, evaluated safety and immunogenicity in 54 participants.

Using ICS and ELISpot assays, developed by CellCarta, the trial characterized dose-dependent polyfunctional CD8 T-cell and neutralizing antibody responses, providing the data used to justify further clinical development.

Frequently Asked Questions

CellCarta supports a broad range of infectious disease indications, including COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and C, influenza, tuberculosis, dengue fever, malaria, flu, and brucellosis. Our teams have developed and validated assays for both clinical trials and biomarker research programs across these areas. If your indication is not listed, you can contact us to discuss custom assay development options.

Our vaccine support capabilities include ICS assays by flow cytometry to measure intracellular cytokine expression at the single-cell level, ELISpot and FluoroSpot assays for T-cell and B-cell cytokine secretion measurement, and MSD for multiplexed cytokine profiling. All assays can be customized to specific antigens and validated for exploratory, secondary, or primary clinical trial endpoints in turnaround times aligned with your trial timeline.

Yes. CellCarta has a demonstrated track record of rapidly developing and validating custom assays for novel pathogens. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our teams partnered with biopharma companies to quickly develop SARS-CoV-2-specific ICS, ELISpot and FluoroSpot assays for use in clinical trials. Our teams can adapt established assay formats to new antigens and validate them to meet primary or secondary endpoint requirements.

CellCarta works with a broad range of sample types for infectious disease programs, including whole blood, fresh and cryopreserved PBMCs, serum, and plasma. Our teams can provide guidance on optimal sample stability and logistics management, including PBMC processing for high-quality samples. In-house sample procurement, preparation, stimulation, and stabilization services are also available where needed.
