Test Description
CAIX is highly expressed in a number of carcinomas including those of the uterine cervix, kidney, esophagus, lung, breast, colon, brain, and vulva. Overexpression in cancerous tissues compared to normal ones is due to hypoxic conditions in the tumor microenvironment.
