SRC

Test Description

The Src family of protein tyrosine kinases is involved in cell differentiation, proliferation, survival, angiogenesis, invasion, adhesion, and metastasis. A ubiquitous protein, Src expression is elevated in cancers of the colon, stomach, lung, pancreas, neural, and ovary. There are two phosphorylation sites on Src: Tyr416 and Tyr527. Tyr416 activates Src in the activation loop and upregulates enzyme activity, which gives it a stimulatory function; whereas Tyr527 renders the enzyme less active and is inhibitory.
