Alternative Name(s): Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor, FHCL1

LDLR

Test Description

Low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) functions to remove cholesterol-carrying particles from circulation. Cholesterol is removed from circulation in the liver, and this tissue is considered a good positive control for LDLR expression in human tissue. LDL is normally bound at the cell membrane and taken into the cell by lysosomes.
