Alternative Name(s): Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3 Beta

pGSK3B

Test Description

Glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK-3) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that phosphorylates a variety of cellular substrates, including glycogen synthase, NFAT, and β-catenin. In unstimulated cells, active GSK-3 phosphorylates its substrates and consequently inhibits their function, thus providing a general repressor role for GSK-3 under resting conditions.
