Alternative Name(s): HGF Receptor, Proto-Oncogene C-Met

pMET

Test Description

PMet, a high affinity tyrosine kinase receptor for HGF, is a disulfide-linked heterodimer made of 45 kDa α-subunits and 145 kDa β-subunits. PMet signaling has been demonstrated to play a role in growth, motility, invasion, metastasis, angiogenesis, wound healing, and tissue regeneration. Binding of HGF to pMet triggers receptor dimerization and phosphorylation on multiple residues, which recruit several downstream signaling components, including Gab1, c-Cbl and PI3K.
