CEA is expressed in the tumor cells of a variety of cancer tissues, with a cytoplasmic and membrane localization. Overexpression is noted in human colon, gastric and pancreatic carcinomas, as well as on approximately 70% of non-small-cell lung carcinomas, and 50% of breast cancers.
